League of Legends Season 14, Split 2, kicked off on May 15, 2024, with the release of Patch 14.10. Key Changes in League of Legends Season 14, Split 2

With the start of Split 2, Riot implemented several noteworthy changes:

Placement Matches Adjustments:

• Players can now end their placements as high as Diamond 3.

This change aims to reward skilled players who perform well during their placement matches, giving them a higher starting point in the ranked ladder.

Demotion Protection Removed:

• Demotion protection has been eliminated. If you lose a game with 5LP in a specific division, you might end up at around 80LP in the division below.

For example, if you are at Emerald 2 with 10LP and lose a game, you could drop to Emerald 3 with 85LP. This change emphasizes consistent performance to maintain your rank.

Demotion from Division Tier:

• Depending on their MMR, players demoted from a division tier now start at 25, 50, or 75LP.

For example, if you drop from Emerald 4 to Platinum, your MMR will determine your placement in Platinum 1 with 25, 50, or 75LP.

Duo Queue Enabled for Master Tier:

• Duo queue has been enabled for the Master tier in all regions except China and Korea.

This allows players to team up with a high-ranking friend or a LoL Elo Booster, enhancing the strategic element of climbing the ranks together.

Boosted AD-Carry Role and New Items

One of the most significant updates in Patch 14.10 is the boost to the AD-Carry role. Riot Games has revitalized this high-risk, high-reward role, bringing back the powerhouse ADC gameplay we all knew and loved. AD-Carry champions have been adjusted to better compete in the current meta, allowing for more impactful plays and strategies.

When Does LoL Season 14 Split 3 Begin?

Split 3 of League of Legends Season 14 is expected to begin on September 18, 2024. While Riot hasn't confirmed the exact date for the start of Split, they always release these huge patches in the middle of the month, on a Wednesday, so we can expect Split 2 to end on September 17 and Split 3 to start on September 18.

With each new split, players can expect rank resets and huge game changes, keeping the gameplay dynamic and challenging.

To keep the experience fresh, Riot often introduces rotating game modes. Expect new modes and possibly the return of fan favorites.

Season 14, Split 3, Ranked Rewards Once the new Ranked Split begins, players will be rewarded with a Victorious Skin and Chroma appropriate for their rank in the last Split. Other ranked rewards include Icons, Emotes and Loading Screen Frames. Season 14, Split 1, granted players the Victorious Kog'Maw skin. The Victorious Skin for Split 2 has not been revealed by Riot Games yet.
