Português League of Legends Patch 14.17: AP Jungle Nerfs and Balance Boosting
League of Legends Patch 14.17 is on the horizon, and Riot Games is ready to change the pro-gaming scene once again! Regardless of if you’re climbing the ranks or just enjoying the casual chaos of the game, this patch will change how you approach your matches. With a massive champion pool and countless variables like items, roles, and matchups, balancing the game is always a tricky task for Riot, but they’re giving it another go in this update.
Patch 14.17 Release Date
LoL Patch 14.17 is scheduled to go live on August 28, 2024. The update will first hit Oceanic servers, with other regions following shortly after. So, if you’re in North America, expect the patch to drop around 3 AM PT. For our European friends, the patch will be live at 5 AM GMT for EUW and 3 AM CET for EUNE. Meanwhile, Korean players can expect it at 8 AM KST. As usual, matchmaking queues will go offline a few hours before the patch hits, so plan your games accordingly.
What's Changing in Patch 14.17?
This time around, Riot is targeting some champions who have been dominating the jungle in Season 14 of LoL with their AP DoT (Ability Power Damage over Time) abilities. Specifically, Brand and Lillia are in the spotlight.

Brand's Passive (Blaze): The damage over time on large monsters is being reduced significantly from 80 to 30. This doesn’t affect epic monsters like Baron or Dragon, but it will slow down Brand’s jungle clearing speed. Lillia's Passive (Dream Laden Bough): The cap on her monster damage is also getting nerfed, going from 70-150 down to 70-100. This is a pretty noticeable hit to her jungle effectiveness. |

The reason behind these changes? The introduction of the new item Fated Ashes and its legendary counterpart, Blackfire Torch, has made these champs a bit too powerful in the jungle. Their ability to quickly clear camps and deal massive damage has made them the go-to picks, so Riot is stepping in to level the playing field.
Will Morgana Rise in the Jungle Meta?
There are whispers that Morgana might dodge the nerf hammer this patch. If that’s true, we could see her rise in the ranks as a top jungle pick. With Brand and Lillia taking hits, Morgana could see a boost in her win rate, possibly making her a must-pick or ban in pro play, especially in the upcoming LCK Summer 2024 Playoffs.
