Falcon Esports Forms Superteam with ImperialHal and DarkZero

Falcon Esports formed a new "superteam" for Apex Legends competitive Esports, featuring three of the most celebrated players in the game’s history: Phillip “ImperialHal” Dosen, Rhys “Zer0” Perry, and Noyan “Genburten” Ozkose. This powerhouse trio has gathered to represent Falcon Esports in the upcoming Split 2, changing the landscape of the North American Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS).

The journey to the formation of the “superteam” began on May 13, when TSM and ImperialHal announced their parting ways after a five-year collaboration. Hal's desire to team up with Zer0 and Genburten, who were still under DarkZero's contract at the time, drove his departure from TSM. However, it was always implied that DarkZero would not be boosting their Apex Legends roster with the legendary ImperialHal. The implication about a major organization acquiring this new roster only grew when Hal announced he was teaming "with" Genburten and Zer0 rather than joining DarkZero. On May 28, DarkZero announced the termination of Zer0 and Genburten's contracts, and Falcons Esports immediately announced their new superteam, confirming the rumors. “Introducing the ultimate trio, our unstoppable Apex Legends superteam.”

Falcons posted their announcement on X (Twitter), highlighting the new roster both for the team and the broader ALGS landscape. In the comment section, thousands of players gathered to recognize that watching these three players converge was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Team Achievements and Pedigree

The trio brings a formidable track record to Falcon Esports’ Apex Legends team, boasting a combined total of four Split Playoff trophies and three ALGS Championships. Their individual accomplishments include:

• Zer0 and Genburten: Winners of the 2022 ALGS Championship and the 2023 Split 2 Playoffs with DarkZero.
• Zer0: Lifted the 2022 Split 2 Playoffs trophy.
• ImperialHal: Lifted the 2023 ALGS Championship and the 2023 Split 1 Playoffs trophies with TSM.
• Most recently, Zer0 and Genburten secured second place in the Split 1 Playoffs, while TSM, led by ImperialHal, finished in 17th place.

Falcon Esports' Joins the ALGS

Falcon Esports, one of the wealthiest and most influential esports organizations, is entering ALGS with high expectations. Known for their successes in Dota 2 and Counter-Strike 2, Falcons aim to boost their trophy case with the Apex Legends Global Series cup.

As one of the 30 Esports World Cup partner teams, Falcons are competing in a “Club Championship” format, where success across multiple games translates to additional prize money. This move reflects Falcons’ ambition to dominate not only in individual games but also in the broader esports landscape.

While the new roster’s talent and achievements are impressive on paper, the competitive nature of Apex Legends means that dominance is not guaranteed. The new ALGS POI draft system and the game's inherent variables introduce a high level of unpredictability. Reports suggest that Sikezz learned about his future with DarkZero as early as March, leading to the expected formation of this superteam. In a drama-filled stream, Sweetdreams hinted at big news about DarkZero, suggesting there have been deeper organizational changes.

On June 1, the newly formed team will compete in the regional ALGS Split 2 NA tournament with the goal of qualifying for the Split 2 Playoffs. Additionally, Falcon Esports' Apex Legends team will boost their potential earnings by participating in the Esports World Cup in July, where fans and competitors will closely watch their performance.
