2023 VCT Champions Evil Geniuses to Join New NRG Lineup for 2024

NRG has announced their team for the 2024 Valorant season. They're keeping Austin "crashies" Roberts and Victor "Victor" Wong from last year's squad and adding three world-class players with a world title under their belt to boost their main lineup. With NRG’s new squad, it might just be the year when they take over the Valorant competitive scene. The best part is that although they were just hired, their team is already prepared to compete at the highest level.

Let's dive into the details of NRG's new roster for the Valorant Champions Tour 2024.

NRG 2023 roster

Who is joining NRG for the Valorant Champions Tour 2024

The core of the team remains unchanged, led by experienced players Austin "crashies" Roberts and Victor "Victor" Wong. Their teamwork and past success make them formidable opponents. Jimmy "Marved" Nguyen, who achieved great things with the Optic Gaming core of crashies and Victor, is also joining NRG, adding to their strength.

Their reunion promises to bring back the success they enjoyed in the esports world before.

NRG has made a huge move by acquiring Demon1 and Ethan, the winners of Valorant Championship 2023, securing them for the upcoming season.

NRG 2024 roster

The addition of Max "Demon1" Mazanov boosting NRG’s squad has surprised the Valorant community. Demon1, coming off a championship win with Evil Geniuses, has shown exceptional Duelist skills. His reputation as a top-tier duelist in his rookie season precedes him, highlighting NRG's ambitions.

Coach Chet "Chet" Singh has revealed a strategic change as NRG gets ready for the challenges ahead. Ethan, making a comeback, will now be the in-game leader (IGL), a role previously held by Pujan "FiNESSE" Mehta, who will be inactive during the 2024 season.

Building an exceptional team had its challenges for NRG. After their championship, Evil Geniuses, the former team of Demon1 and Ethan, faced issues. Reports of contract problems and reduced pay led to a split between the players and the organization.

This situation limited the options for the EG players as they looked to avoid salary cuts in their future endeavors.

With this skilled lineup, NRG is set to make a big impact in the upcoming 2024 season. With a talented and dedicated team, they are expected to grab the Valorant Esports community’s attention and also at least a couple of trophies, delivering exciting matches and impressive displays of skill as they enter the competitive Valorant scene.
