VCT Pacific 2024 Stage 1: Global Esports vs. Paper Rex

Ever since the Valorant Champions Tour gathered the best teams from the Pacific region, we've witnessed gaming titans clash. Now, we’re about to watch a duel for survival as Global Esports and Paper Rex take the stage for the main event in Week 3 of VCT Pacific 2024 Stage 1. Although they’re positioned differently in the group standings, with Global Esports holding a record of one win and three losses and Paper Rex boasting two wins and a single loss, both teams are holding the third position within their respective groups.

Despite their similar standings, the stakes diverge significantly for each team. Paper Rex finds themselves in a favorable position to secure a spot in the playoffs, whereas Global Esports urgently needs a victory to stay in the competition. Whoever wins will boost their score just enough to guarantee a spot in the next stage.

Global Esports

Global Esports, once considered a weaker contender in Valorant Pro-play, has shown that they can take down any world-class team in recent matches, showcasing their potential to dominate maps effectively and come up with out-of-the-box strategic decisions. Their recent performance against Rex Regum Qeon was a statement, proving their ability to compete against top-tier opponents.

On the other hand, Paper Rex has regained momentum with Jinggg's return, reverting to their formidable form from the 2023 Valorant Champions season. Despite a setback against Team Secret, Paper Rex's aggressive playstyle poses a formidable challenge for any opponent.

Given Paper Rex's strong performances and renewed confidence, they enter this matchup as clear favorites. However, Global Esports must deliver a standout performance to overcome Paper Rex's dominance in this Best-of-Three series.

In their latest match during VCT Pacific 2024 Stage 1, Global Esports bared their teeth and swept the floor with Rex Regum Qeon, who previously took down Paper Rex, in a dominant 2-0 victory, showcasing their potential for success in the upcoming matchup and boosting the team’s dwindling motivation.

Paper Rex

On that same day, Paper Rex faced a setback in their recent outing against Team Secret, suffering a defeat in a Best-of-Three series with a scoreline of 0-2.

VCT Pacific's official YouTube and Twitch channels will broadcast the showdown between Global Esports and Paper Rex live. The match is scheduled to take place on April 23, 2024, at 4 a.m. PT/1 p.m. CET/4:30 p.m. IST/8 p.m. JST.
