Choosing the most effective Agents in Valorant is a constant challenge, but we’ve got your back. We have collected all the data from the VCT Kickoff to build a comprehensive guide, show you the Agents who are reigning supreme in the current meta, and help you boost your Valorant winrate to the next level. Let’s get this show on the road!
As the dust settles from the VCT Kickoff, paving the way for the showdown in Madrid, the top eight teams from regions spanning China, the Pacific, EMEA, and the Americas are gearing up for an epic clash.
Throughout February, these teams engaged in fierce battles within their respective groups, narrowing down the contenders from 11 to a final duo. While the Valorant community witnessed this all-out war between some of the strongest Valorant pro-teams ever, the Agent selection meta remained a consistent thread throughout the entire competition.
The qualified teams—Gen.G, Paper Rex, Team Heretics, Karmine Corp, EDward Gaming, FunPlus Phoenix, LOUD, and Sentinels—brought us a mix of seasoned international veterans and also a few new faces making their debuts on the global stage. With fan bases rallying behind them, these teams are soaring into the VALORANT Masters Madrid, an event that promises excitement in every game, but maybe not a lot of surprises when it comes to the meta. The numbers from the VCT Kickoff are in, and it’s clear who will be picked the most in the next Valorant event. Let’s take a look at the data!
Who are the best Agents in Valorant Episode 8 Act 2?
Best Duelists
On the roster of duelists, Jett and Raze emerge as the frontrunners across the four regions. Raze, with an impressive 57% overall selection rate, dominates the field, particularly resonating with the EMEA scene, where she secures a remarkable 67% selection rate. Jett claims the second spot with a 37% selection rate. However, these numbers might be a bit biased due to EMEA having picked Jett exclusively, boosting her pick rate to 12%, while they usually favor Yoru, who got a 21% selection rate. |
Best Controllers
The Controller category saw Viper take the lead with a staggering 74% selection rate in VCT. Omen closely follows at 61%, owing to many teams opting for multiple Controllers in their compositions. Astra, Brimstone, and Harbor each secure at least one selection in all four regions. Their pick and success rates, however, remain low, emphasizing the widespread preference for Omen and Viper's strengths. Is it a coincidence that these two were featured so heavily in the Valorant Episode 8 cinematic? We think not.
Best SentinelsWhen it comes to Sentinels, Cypher and Killjoy took the top spots during the Kickoff. Cypher has a 40% selection rate, closely followed by Killjoy with a 33% rate. Surprisingly, the Sentinels category, as a whole, received limited attention across all these regions. Ironic how Sentinels qualified for the VCT Madrid with barely any Sentinel Agents getting picked. Chamber, Deadlock, and Sage only made sporadic appearances and lacked consistent playtime, proving that Valorant might need a Sentinel-oriented patch. |
Best Initiators
The Initiator category boasts a consistent selection pattern across all regions, with Sova and Skye standing out at 38% and 28%, respectively. All six Initiators found their place in multiple matches, with choices varying based on the map and individual player strengths. The flexibility in determining the best-suited Agent for initiation is evident, but Breach and Geeko were left behind with the lowest selection rates at 17% and 14%, respectively.
Episode 8 Act 2 is fully underway, and with the buzz caused by the rumors surrounding Agent 25, there’s no telling what will happen next. If a new Agent is released, the meta will undoubtedly shift overnight. For now, drawing insights from the professionals can give you an advantage in the Valorant lobby. Pick up the right Agent and start each match ahead of the curve!
