It creates a really fun visual and thematic dynamic on the board, pushing TFT’s artistic boundaries further than we’ve seen in recent years.

New Mechanics: The Realm of the Gods

Perhaps the biggest shakeup coming in Set 17 is the removal of the traditional carousel. In its place, Riot is introducing the "Realm of the Gods."

According to the official press release, this new mechanic acts as a celestial marketplace. Instead of the usual dizzying carousel rounds, players will interact with a shop environment where the cosmic, god-tier characters physically move through the space, showing off their unique traits. It’s a brilliant way to showcase the new art style while evolving a core gameplay mechanic that has been around since day one.

As the first of three sets scheduled for 2026—leading right up to the game’s monumental 20th set next year—Space Gods is setting a massive precedent.
