Marvel Rivals Season 8 Teaser Reveals The Hood as Next Villain

Marvel Rivals is already having a massive Season 7, but the development team isn’t slowing down anytime soon. Starting tomorrow, players are getting a brand-new playground: Lower Manhattan. But while the fresh map is exciting on its own, a sneaky teaser hidden at the end of the latest trailer has the community buzzing about a major MCU villain potentially joining the roster in Season 8.

Here is a breakdown of what’s coming to the game tomorrow, and why the newest character tease could completely boost the competitive meta upside down.

Welcome to Fisk’s Turf (And a Sneaky Post-Credits Tease)

Tomorrow’s update brings players into the heart of a Lower Manhattan controlled by none other than Wilson Fisk. The new map trailer shows off some iconic landmarks you’ll be fighting across, including the towering Alchemax building, the Statue of Liberty, and—in true Marvel Rivals fashion—a giant, solid gold statue of Jeff the Shark.

But the real hype started after the trailer faded to black.

In a classic post-credits style tease, the camera lingers on a mysterious, glowing cloak hovering quietly inside a glass display case. Comic and MCU fans immediately recognized it: this is the signature gear of The Hood. The deliberate focus on this item strongly suggests he’s gearing up for a Season 8 debut.

Who is The Hood?

If you aren't familiar with him, Parker Robbins (aka The Hood) started out as a low-level, street-tier criminal who caught a massive break. After unknowingly stealing a pair of boots and a cloak from a demon, he quickly realized his new wardrobe came with some serious perks.

It turns out, those powers are directly tied to Dormammu, the terrifying Lord of the Dark Dimension. Because his abilities are fueled by such a heavy-hitting cosmic entity, this small-time crook actually poses a massive threat to even the strongest heroes on the roster.

How He Could Shift the Competitive Meta

If you are looking for a legitimate Marvel Rivals boost to your win rate next season, keeping an eye on this character is going to be essential. Based on his comic book lore, The Hood brings a wildly unique skill set that could make him an absolute terror as either a Duelist or a Vanguard.

Here is what his kit will likely look like based on his traditional powers:

  • Magical Twin Pistols: He channels demonic energy through dual handguns, firing magical, armor-piercing bullets that can shred through tanky heroes.
  • Invisibility & Levitation: The cloak allows him to walk on air and turn completely unseen, making him a nightmare for backline supports.
  • Demon Form: In extreme situations, the dark magic takes over, allowing him to physically transform into a demonic entity—which sounds exactly like a game-changing Ultimate ability.

We already know how impactful invisibility is in Rivals. Characters like Psylocke, Invisible Woman, and Scarlet Witch use stealth to control the flow of a match. However, none of them combine stealth with the sheer ranged firepower of magical, piercing bullets.

We all know the competitive grind can be brutal. While some frustrated players eventually look into Marvel Rivals boosting just to escape the lower ranks, the most reliable way to climb the leaderboards is simply staying ahead of the meta. A character who can turn invisible, hover out of reach, and melt health bars from a distance is exactly the kind of hero you’ll want to master on day one.

If he does drop in Season 8, The Hood is going to be incredibly dangerous in the right hands. Until then, we’ll see you in Lower Manhattan tomorrow—just make sure to pay your respects to the golden Jeff the Shark.
