How Does the New Game Mode Work in Marvel Rivals?

This means your squad must consist of Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow, Hawkeye, and Bruce Banner. The opposing solo player takes on the role of Loki. If you prefer more variety, the All Heroes option lets the squad pick any character on the roster aside from the God of Mischief.

Matchmaking allows you to queue specifically for the Heroes side, the solo Loki role, or a Flexible slot to fill whatever the lobby needs. Winning requires your team to capture and hold the central control point.

Playing on the Heroes Team

Taking the field as part of the six person squad requires tight teamwork. Your characters function exactly as they do in standard matches and retain their familiar skill sets. The major advantage for the squad is the ability to summon Monster Hulk. This massive variant fights alongside your team and can exist simultaneously with a regular player controlled Hulk. Playing as the God of Mischief

Taking on six opponents by yourself sounds intimidating. Thankfully, the solo player receives massive upgrades to compensate for the numerical disadvantage. Loki enters the arena with a health pool of 3,500 points and a completely revamped ability kit designed for crowd control and deception.

His primary attack is Sovereign's Strike. You charge the Mind Stone to fire an energy blast that damages and grounds targets. For mobility, Art of Deception turns you invisible and allows you to reposition quietly. You can follow this up with Royal Presence to instantly teleport to one of your created illusions. Illusion Bombardment lets you spawn a clone that rains continuous damage onto surrounding enemies.

The most disruptive tools in his arsenal involve mind control. Bend the Knee fires an energy wave that forces an enemy player to switch sides and fight for you. Puppet Strings goes a step further by letting you take direct control of an allied hero while an artificial intelligence pilot manages your original character. Finally, his ultimate ability is Chrono-Chaos Command. Activating this skill tears open a timeline rift and summons six alternate reality heroes to fight on your behalf.
