Worlds 2023 Quarterfinals - Day 3: JDG's Golden Road vs. KT's Survival
Day 4 of the League of Legends Worlds 2023 Knockout Stage delivered an absolute banger! Kt Rolster aimed to establish themselves as an LCK powerhouse, while JDG, fresh off their 2023 MSI victory, had their sights set on the Golden Road.
JDG vs kt Rolster
The first match was a whirlwind of chaos, with kt Rolster's mid-laner BDD in absolute top form. Lehends, as Lulu, was boosting him in every teamfight, turning him into an unstoppable killing machine. KT secured a Baron buff under Kanavi's control, leading to the destruction of the mid-lane inhibitor. Even though it seemed early for a showdown between these two titans to end, JDG continuously engaged in desperation, attempting to defend the Nexus turrets. This led to KT picking off their opponents one by one and sealing the game right there.
Game two started off as a far more balanced affair but was no less thrilling. Teamfights erupted regularly, and the duo of Missing and Ruler shone as they carried the LPL champions. Ruler demonstrated why he's regarded as the world's best ADC, utilizing Jinx's passive attack speed boost to its fullest potential, while Missing danced among KT's ranks, causing disruption. In just 26 minutes, JDG triumphed over kt Rolster, tying the series.
As Missing reprised his role as Rakan in game three, Ruler took on Sivir, one of his personal favorites. This time, JDG had a different strategy in mind, securing picks in the jungle and creating unconventional engagements using Kanavi's ultimate as Wukong. After several surreal plays from JDG's Missing that left kt Rolster astonished, JDG secured their second win.
Game four could potentially be the series finale, and once again, kt Rolster granted Rakan to Missing. Despite Missing being in excellent form, kt Rolster managed to gain an early advantage, even with JDG's impeccable strategy. Slowly but surely, they built up their game. Everything appeared to be going according to plan until BDD's Orianna unleashed a perfect Shockwave, providing JDG with the teamfight they needed to make a comeback. Empowered by a Baron buff stat boost, they claimed the first inhibitor in the bot lane.
The game continued with one thrilling teamfight after another, showcasing the skills of both teams. The crowd roared as some of the most exhilarating teamfights in the tournament unfolded. With a daring high-risk dive from Ruler as Kai'Sa, he enticed kt Rolster to overextend. The nexus turret fell, KT engaged, and surprisingly, they won the fight. However, the Nexus had only a sliver of health remaining, and a single cannon minion representing the LPL sealed the deal by taking out the Nexus, propelling JDG into the Semi-Finals. |
Our undisputed MVP for Day 3 of the Worlds 2023 Knockout Stage is JDG's Missing.
JDG now joins Weibo and BLG in the League of Legends Worlds 2023 Semi-Finals. Tomorrow, LNG and T1 will battle for a chance to keep Korea's dream alive or make it an all-China show. Faker's last year in the legendary T1 squad could either culminate in a perfect anime-style finale or end in disappointment, and we can't wait to find out!
