League of Legends Patch 14.13 Notes: Domination Keystone Buffs

League of Legends Patch 14.13 is set to make a big impact on the game, particularly for users of Domination Keystones. Lead Gameplay Designer Matt “Riot Phroxzon” Leung-Harrison has explained the upcoming changes, although without much detail, which focus on boosting AD casters and tweaking Domination Keystones to enhance the gameplay experience.

Major Updates in LoL Patch 14.13

Focus on AD Casters: Following the attention on AD carries in Patch 14.12, Patch 14.13 shifts Riot’s focus to AD casters. Riot will heavily buff champions who excel at dealing both magic and physical damage with their abilities.

Champion Buffs and Nerfs: This patch also includes a variety of buffs and nerfs aimed at balancing gameplay. Notably, the patch will adjust the abilities of champions who heavily rely on Fated Ashes items, not the items themselves. Riot Games made this decision because they believe the champions overpowered by the item are outdated, and they designed the Fated Ashes items with the modern meta champions in mind.

Kalista and Varus have been dominant in competitive play, prompting Riot to make changes to maintain their viability while reducing their overpowering presence in professional games. Varus’ passive ability will now grant him AD and AP instead of an Attack Speed boost.

System Changes Domination Keystones: Electrocute and Dark Harvest Electrocute will be stronger early in the game, while Dark Harvest will scale better with stacks. Riot is also considering lowering Dark Harvest’s cooldown to make it more useful during the laning phase. Lethality Item Nerfs: Opportunity Opportunity, a popular Lethality item, will see nerfs for ranged champions to close the gap between it and other Lethality items. Melee champions using this item will remain unaffected.

Arena-Specific Changes

Riot has also examined how buffs and nerfs affect the Arena game mode, ensuring players will still be satisfied when using champions with abilities that are typically weaker in this context.

What is the release date for the Rain Shepherd Skins? The update will introduce the Rain Shepherd skin line, featuring Milio and Fizz in frog-themed skins.
