Riot has revealed this year's Harrowing skin line, La Illusión.

Riot Games, the creative powerhouse behind the ever-popular League of Legends, has once again unleashed its boundless creativity with a dazzling array of skins. Just as we were trying out the Street Demon skins that came with Patch 13.18 on September 13th, Riot Games has teased another mesmerizing collection set to grace the Summoner's Rift in this year’s Harrowing event.

In recent years, Riot Games has demonstrated a commendable commitment to boosting the player experience by streamlining its skin-line offerings. This strategic move has not only simplified the process of creating and releasing skins but has also allowed the company to focus on delivering higher-quality and thematically cohesive cosmetic content. By narrowing their focus to fewer yet more immersive and meticulously designed skin lines, Riot has elevated the visual and thematic integrity of these cosmetic items, ensuring that each release feels like a carefully crafted work of art that resonates more deeply with the League of Legends community.

Despite the criticism that Samira’s Soul Fighter skin received and the backlash about Dark Cosmic Erasure Jhin’s price, the skin's aesthetic quality has definitely improved lately.

The next collection will be the "La Ilusión" skin line, this enchanting ensemble of cosmetics promises to be the highlight of this year's Halloween, or Harrowing, as it’s called in Runeterra, celebrations in League of Legends. In this post, we'll dive into everything we know so far about these mystical skins, including their inspiration, the champions they feature, their expected price range, and their release date.

La Ilusión Skins: A Sneak Peek

Riot Games unveiled the La Ilusión skins on Twitter with the poetic message, "Even in death, these spirits continue the cycle of life." Alongside these haunting words, they shared a tantalizing preview of the skins and their recall animations.

Unlike the typical spooky Halloween skins we're accustomed to, Riot Games has drawn inspiration from the Mexican tradition of Dia de los Muertos, also known as the "Day of the Dead." This joyful celebration embraces the inevitability of death rather than fearing it, with families coming together to honor their ancestors. Vibrant skulls and marigold flowers are prominent symbols on this festive occasion.

The La Ilusión skin collection features six champions, with one lucky champion receiving a gargantuan popularity boost with a prestige skin from Riot Games. Here's the lineup:

  • La Ilusión Ziggs
  • La Ilusión Qiyana
  • La Ilusión Draven
  • La Ilusión Nidalee
  • La Ilusión Gnar
  • La Ilusión Renata Glasc
  • La Ilusión Renata Glasc Prestige Edition

While the community has praised this magical collection, some fans couldn't help but feel "un poco loco" about the absence of Milio, a champion who would have perfectly complemented the theme. References aside, Riot most likely decided to leave him out of this one since he was launched very recently and other champions have been waiting for a new skin for years.

As for pricing, players can anticipate that each of these skins will be available for around 1350 RP, with the exception of the Renata Glasc Prestige skin, which can be acquired for 125 ME in the Mythic Shop.

When Can You Get the La Ilusión Skins?

Excitement is already building as all of these captivating skins are currently available for testing on the League of Legends Public Beta Environment (PBE) server. Players are encouraged to jump into the testing server and share their feedback on the PBE subreddit before the skins make their official debut on September 27th, coinciding with the release of LoL Patch 13.19.

There's even speculation that an in-game event may feature these mystical La Ilusión skins, although no official confirmation has been made. Fans are holding onto hope because the skins are set to launch with LoL Patch 13.19, which will also mark the beginning of Worlds 2023. Coincidence? We think not. The launch date suggests that these skins may play a pivotal role in the upcoming Worlds event and its theme.

With the new patch testing already underway, players can look forward to official information from Riot Games in the coming weeks. So, get ready to embrace the magic of La Ilusión and make this Halloween in League of Legends truly "encantado"!
