League Awards 2025: The Moments Boosting LoL Esports to New Heights
If you tuned into the League Awards 2025 expecting a standard, buttoned-up corporate gala, you were in for a shock. Hosted by the iconic duo of Marc ‘Caedrel’ Lamont and Eefje ‘Sjokz’ Depoortere, the night was a perfect microcosm of why we love League of Legends esports: it was chaotic, emotional, and filled with world-class talent.
The highlight for many wasn't just the trophies, but the sight of Caedrel, and later IWDominate, sporting freshly shaved heads. Both streamers had famously wagered their hair against T1’s ability to win Worlds with Doran in the top lane. As it turns out, betting against the T1 dynasty is a quick way to lose a haircut, as the legendary org secured yet another title, taking their legacy to heights we may never see again.
Here is a deep dive into the winners and the moments that defined the 2025 season.

Chovy Takes the CrownIn what some might call a controversial but statistically justified move, Gen.G’s midlaner Chovy walked away with the Player of the Year award. He beat out the likes of Faker and BDD, despite Gen.G’s shocking exit at the hands of KT Rolster during the Worlds 2025 semifinals. Chovy’s individual dominance throughout the domestic season was undeniable. |
The LCK legend had an amazing year, consistently boosting his team’s win rate through sheer mechanical prowess. In a humble acceptance speech, Chovy admitted his surprise: “I’m not sure I really deserve this award, but receiving it gives me an even stronger sense of responsibility.” With the Summoner’s Cup still eluding him, the pressure is on for 2026.
Regional Titans: Caps, Inspired, and the Rise of the LCP
The regional awards showcased a mix of familiar legends and rising stars.
- LEC Player of the Year: G2’s Caps remains the king of Europe, securing the award for the second year running. His ability to innovate continues to boost the LEC’s relevance on the international stage.
- LTA Player of the Year: The jungle phenom Inspired took the trophy for the LTA, marking his second consecutive win.
- LPL & LCK: Tarzan was recognized for his incredible run with Anyone’s Legend, while BDD earned the LCK title after a vintage performance that carried KT Rolster all the way to the Worlds final.
- LCP Player of the Year: Doggo from CFO was the breakout star here. His hyper-aggressive playstyle helped CFO pull off a massive upset against T1 during the Swiss Stage, significantly boosting the reputation of the newly formed LCP.
The T1 Dynasty: A Historic 3-Peat
There are no words left to describe T1. After a grueling year that Faker described as "very tough," the team stood tall as the Team of the Year. By winning LoL Worlds 2025, they completed the historic "3-peat," winning three consecutive World Championships.
With six stars now on their jerseys, T1 has moved beyond being just a team; they are a global phenomenon. The Moment of the Year was, unsurprisingly, their final victory lap, while Keria took home Play of the Year for a mind-bending Neeko fake-out that left Anyone’s Legend (and the audience) in total disbelief.
This amazing play inspired thousands of players to pick up Neeko in casual and ranked queues, and according to our LoL Elo boosters, there have never been so many players asking to have Neeko victories on their LoL accounts.
Creators and Broadcasters
The community side of the awards was equally vibrant. Chronicler won Broadcast Talent of the Year, a fitting "end-of-career" tribute for the LCK caster who retired this season. His final cast, the Telecom War in the Worlds final, was a masterpiece of storytelling.

On the content front, Thebausffs (Baus) won Community Creator of the Year, accepting the award in the same suit he wore to his prom at age 14. Meanwhile, AloisNL pulled off the upset of the night. His "Mundo PUSH PUSH PUSH" content beat out high-budget productions like Arcane and Ludwig’s events, proving that personality and a deep understanding of top-lane fundamentals can lead a creator to the very top of the League of Legends ecosystem. |

Looking Ahead to 2026
As the 2025 season closes, the landscape of LoL esports is shifting. With rookies like HongQ (Rookie of the Year) expected to move to the LPL and veteran streamers like Baus joining the professional ranks in LEC Versus, the narrative for next year is already building.
It was a wonderful night with high-level gamers and the "bald" bets of your favorite streamers, and one thing is certain for 2026: League of Legends esports will remain as the most compelling spectacle in gaming. Congratulations to all the winners who spent the year improving the standards of play and entertainment to new heights!
