League of Legends Season 1 Patch 25.S1.1 Highlights

Season 1 of League of Legends kicks off with the Noxus-themed update, bringing a fresh map overhaul, a new epic monster, and gameplay-changing features. Ranked players can expect a revamped climb, tons of item boosts, and the introduction of Feats of Strength, offering new early-game objectives. Here’s everything you need to know about Patch 25.S1.1.

25.S1.1 Patch Notes

Fearless Draft Enters the Pro Scene

Riot introduces Fearless Draft to professional play for best-of-3 and best-of-5 series. This format prevents the same champion from being picked more than once during a series. Once a champion is selected in a match, it’s locked out for all remaining games in that series.

The goal? Boost variety, encourage unique champion pools, and reduce pressure on pro-focused balancing. Players with niche picks will have more opportunities to shine, and fans can expect greater diversity in gameplay.

Summoner’s Rift Map Rework: Noxus

The battlefield has undergone a complete Noxian transformation, featuring:

  • Noxian War Turrets: New turret designs with upgraded targeting animations.
  • Minions and Shopkeepers: Dressed in Noxian attire, enhancing immersion.
  • Biome Variety: While the main lanes and bases sport a Noxian aesthetic, the river and blue buff zones maintain their familiar forest look.

These changes will last throughout Season 1, with new seasonal themes planned for future updates.

Meet Atakhan: The New Epic Monster

Atakhan, an ancient demon of war, introduces a high-stakes objective to the Rift. This epic monster has two possible forms:

Ruinous Atakhan (High-action games)

Grants a 25% boost to all Epic monster rewards.

Spawns Blood Roses, which provide permanent Adaptive Force and XP bonuses to teams.

Voracious Atakhan (Lower-action games)

Grants a one-time death mitigation buff (similar to Guardian Angel) for 150 seconds.

Offers a 40 gold bonus per champion takedown for the rest of the game.

Blood Roses spawn around Atakhan’s pit and areas with frequent champion deaths. Collecting them grants minor permanent stat boosts, encouraging strategic skirmishes.

Respawning Nexus Turrets

Nexus Turrets now respawn after a 3-minute cooldown, providing teams with an added layer of defense. Once they return, they’re fully restored and ready to hold off enemy sieges.

Feats of Strength: A New Objective System

Replacing gold bonuses from First Blood and First Turret, Feats of Strength introduces three early-game objectives:

  • First Blood
  • First Turret
  • Monster Slaying (claiming three Epic monsters)

Completing two of these objectives upgrades Tier 2 boots into Triumphant Boots, granting unique bonuses like:

  • Triumphant Sorcerer’s Shoes: +4 Magic Penetration
  • Triumphant Mercury’s Treads: +5 Magic Resistance
  • Triumphant Berserker’s Greaves: +5% Attack Speed

Later in the game, players can upgrade these boots to Tier 3 versions by spending gold, provided they have at least two legendary items.

Teleport Rework

Teleport now has a more tactical use, with slower travel times early on and faster speeds post-14 minutes. Key changes include:

  • Channel Duration: Reduced to 3 seconds.
  • Travel Mechanic: No longer instant; champions visually dash across the map.
  • Homeguards Buff: Available from game start, with a weaker effect until 14 minutes.

Unleashed Teleport retains its faster travel speed, ensuring late-game map influence remains powerful.

Ranked Season Changes

Ranked Season 1, 2025, begins on January 9. Key updates for competitive play include:

  • Apex Duo MMR Restriction Lifted: Temporarily disabled for the season’s start.
  • Ranked Victorious Skin Requirement: 15 ranked wins (Solo/Duo or Flex).
  • Shard Transfers Disabled: Temporarily paused before season end.

Rank resets are in place, but this will be the only reset for 2025, allowing players to focus on a single, consistent climb.

Rune Overhaul

Several runes have been removed, including Ghost Poro, Zombie Ward, and Eyeball Collection. New runes added:

  • Deep Ward: Grants longer-lasting Stealth Wards in enemy territory.
  • Sixth Sense: Automatically pings untracked enemy wards.
  • Grisly Mementos: Provides trinket ability haste with champion takedowns.
  • Axiom Arcanist: Enhances ultimate ability damage, healing, and shielding.

These changes aim to improve vision control and encourage more strategic ward placements.

Minion and Turret Adjustments

Minions have received stat tweaks to scale better into the late game:

  • Melee Minions: Slightly reduced starting HP but increased scaling.
  • Ranged Minions: Increased scaling in HP and AD.

Additionally, turret heat damage has been increased, making extended dives riskier.

With all the new changes, it’s a great time to jump into the reworked Summoner’s Rift for a ranked game with a Challenger player as your Duo and boost your rank. The updated map, revamped objectives, and rune overhauls promise a fresh, dynamic experience for every LoL player.
