How to Link Valorant to Discord for Easy Party Invites
Let’s be honest: If you play on PC, Discord is basically your home base. But until recently, trying to wrangle your gaming squad together meant aggressively alt-tabbing between your game client and your voice channels just to drop a party invite.
Thankfully, Riot Games finally heard our collective sighs. Starting with Patch 12.07, official Discord integration has arrived, bridging the gap between your servers and your lobbies.
If you haven't set this up yet, you're missing out on one of the best quality-of-life updates the game has seen in a while. Here is a complete guide on how to link your Valorant and Discord accounts, and a breakdown of the new features you'll unlock once you do.

Linking Valorant to Discord
The main reason to connect your profiles is pure convenience. Riot designed this update specifically to remove the friction of getting into your next match.
Once linked, you can handle a ton of social features without ever minimizing the game. You'll be able to see exactly who on your friend list is currently playing, what game mode they are in (like Spike Rush, Deathmatch, or Competitive), and even check their current match score.
Whether you're just hopping on for some casual fun or hoping to get a Valorant boost by duo-queuing with your most skilled, highest-ranked friend, this integration makes grouping up incredibly fast and effortless.
How to Link Valorant to Discord: A Step-by-Step Guide
The setup process is completely painless and takes less than a minute. Before you start, make sure you have the Discord desktop app open and you are logged into both your Discord and Riot Games accounts.
From the Discord App:
- Open Discord and look for the gear icon (User Settings) in the bottom-left corner next to your username.
- Click on the Connections tab on the left-hand menu.
- Look through the row of application icons and click on the Riot Games logo.
- A browser window will pop up prompting you to sign into your Riot account.
- Enter your credentials, authorize the connection, and you’re done! Your new social features will go live immediately.
Note: Riot has stated that a native linking option is being built directly into the game client as well. While it isn't fully live in-game just yet, it will eventually allow you to connect the two apps without even opening your settings menu.

One Account per Link
There is one minor catch to keep in mind: the integration strictly operates on a one-to-one basis. You can only bind one Riot ID to one Discord profile at a time.
If you juggle multiple accounts, maybe you have a main account for your solo grind and an alternate account to play with lower-ranked buddies, you’ll have to pick just one to leave connected. If you ever need to switch the connected profile, you'll have to manually go into your settings, sever the existing connection, and re-link the new one.
What Features Unlock After Linking?
Once you're set up, you get immediate access to three fantastic social tools:
- Direct In-Game Invites: You can now invite your Discord friends straight to your in-game party directly through the client interface. No more copying and pasting Riot IDs.
- Shareable Lobby Links: Want to fill up a five-stack with a couple of Valorant Boosters quickly? You can copy a direct link to your active lobby and drop it into any Discord server channel. Anyone who clicks it will instantly join your party.
- Rich Presence Visibility: You can see exactly what your friends are up to in-game right from Discord, allowing you to time your invites perfectly as they finish up their current match.
If you're worried about privacy, don't be. Riot has confirmed that the only data shared with Discord is what’s strictly necessary to make the features work. This includes your Riot ID, your current game mode, party size, and basic match status. It perfectly mirrors the information already visible on the in-game social panel, meaning no extra personal data is being handed over.
Rollout Schedule
If you don't see the option to link your accounts quite yet, don't panic. Riot is rolling out this feature in phases. It initially launched in Brazil, followed by the US and Canada on April 21st. A full global rollout is scheduled to drop alongside Patch 12.08 on April 29th.
Considering Valorant consistently dominates the charts as one of the most-played titles on Discord, this partnership is a massive win for the community. Go ahead and link your accounts—your alt-tab key will thank you.
