Why Black Cat’s Kit Will Break Marvel Rivals Season 7.5

If there’s one thing Marvel Rivals consistently nails, it’s delivering insanely creative hero kits. Sure, we see a little overlap sometimes, Black Cat’s dash definitely gives off major Black Panther vibes, but the developers always manage to throw curveballs that completely change how we play the game.

The latest game-changer? Black Cat and her wild in-match micro-economy.

Set to drop in Season 7.5 in just a few days, Felicia Hardy is the newest Duelist to enter the fray. At a glance, she brings the standard agility you’d expect from the master thief: double jumping, wall climbing, and a snappy Claw Strike melee. But the real magic lies in her unique "Fortune" system.

How Black Cat’s Fortune System Works

As you deal damage or swipe resources from enemies using her grapple, you accumulate Fortune. You can then spend this mid-match currency to boost and use specific abilities, like her Claw Whip or Phantom Pursuit, a nasty lock-on dash that lets her dive targets with ease.

But why stop at basic abilities? Black Cat can actually use her Fortune to buy "rare artifacts" on the fly from a mysterious deity known as The Gilded Saint. We’re still piecing together the full shop inventory from the recent hero trailer, but here’s what we know so far:

  • Ring of Zona: Literally allows Black Cat to create portals through walls.
  • Mento-Fish: Drops a localized field that damages and stuns any enemies caught inside.
  • Helm of Hades: Grants temporary invisibility. Perfect for flanking or escaping sticky situations.
  • The Tablet of Destinies: A straight-up Fortune refund. The trailer showed her bagging 1,000 Fortune, though it might end up relying on RNG.
  • Faltine Flame Orb: A lethal projectile that damages enemies and doubles as wall-hacks, revealing enemy positions.
  • The Mystery Item: There’s a sixth artifact hinted at in the footage that looks suspiciously like a crowd-control cleanse or immunity.

The Power Creep Problem

Let’s be real for a second: this kit sounds absolutely busted.

Marvel Rivals has a bit of a tradition of dropping completely overtuned heroes and taking their sweet time to dial them back. We just saw this massive power creep with Deadpool. The Merc with a Mouth literally breaks role constraints, Tankpool dominates with defensive bubbles and aggressive disruption, while Stratpool is basically farming ultimates for every team fight thanks to a notorious exploit (sorry, DPSpool, you’re still a bit lackluster).

Then there’s Gambit. He has held an absolute chokehold on both casual and competitive lobbies as a top-tier Strategist since his release, which is saying something considering the Strategist class as a whole is incredibly strong right now.

Surviving the New Meta

Knowing that balance patches for Deadpool took a season and a half, and Gambit took even longer, we can comfortably expect Black Cat to dominate the meta for a long time before she sees any serious nerfs.

If you’re grinding ranked, this kind of massive meta shift can be incredibly frustrating. When a clearly overpowered hero dictates the outcome of every single match, sometimes the smartest move is to invest in a Marvel Rivals boost. Teaming up with top-tier players who already know how to exploit (or counter) these broken mechanics is honestly the best way to secure your desired rank and save your sanity. Instead of pulling your hair out against a cracked Black Cat player, utilizing Marvel Rivals boosting services allows you to bypass the chaotic learning curve, climb the leaderboards effortlessly, and actually enjoy the game at a higher, more coordinated competitive level.

Marvel Rivals Season 7.5 Start Date

Season 7.5 just started on the 17th of April, and Felicia Hardy is about to steal a whole lot more than just our Fortune. Are you ready for the chaos?
