Knockout Mode: A New Way to Play Apex Legends The Space Hunt event introduces Knockout mode, a 60-player, 20-squad showdown that isn’t your typical battle royale. Forget about just racking up kills; the goal here is to capture zones and score points. Each round gets tougher as the bottom five squads are eliminated, leaving only the best of the best for the final face-off in Sudden Death. And when it gets down to that last round, respawns are out, and it’s a full-on battle for survival.

How to Win in Knockout Mode

To come out on top, you'll need to play smart. Capture zones, earn Evo points, and know when to engage or back off. The longer you hold a zone, the more points you get — five points for every 10% captured, and a solid 20 points if you capture the whole thing. But here’s the kicker: every 800 Evo points you rack up will also give you five extra points.

A key tip for boosting your success is staying mobile. If a zone’s packed with enemies, don’t stick around too long. Use jump towers to reposition and secure less crowded points. And once you hit Sudden Death, shift your focus to teamwork and staying alive. Points don’t matter here; it’s all about being the last squad standing.

Boosting Your Rewards with Knockout Trials

During the event, you’ll get the chance to permanently unlock two Legends: Crypto and Wattson. From September 17 to October 15, complete Crypto’s Trials to unlock him, while Wattson’s Trials run from October 1 to October 15. These Legends will be free to play during their respective windows, and if you complete all the challenges, you’ll permanently unlock them. There’s even a bonus Epic-tier badge for completing both sets of challenges.
