VALORANT Players Aren't Buying It: Gaia’s Vengeance 2.0 Bundle Drama

The Gaia’s Vengeance 2.0 bundle is here, and boy, oh boy, have we got some hot tea served right from the VALORANT community.

VALORANT players are no strangers to pricy skins that make your wallet cry, especially when they come with all those fancy visual effects and finishers that you simply need to boost your style level to eleven. But Riot Games might have pushed things a bit too far this time. Let's dive into the drama that's been exploding all over Reddit and the gaming community.

The Copy-Paste Melee

The new melee weapon is causing a ruckus, and it’s easy to see why. Imagine a weapon that's actually a pair of melee weapons: a dagger and an axe.Sounds kind of cool, right? Well, not quite. It turns out that the axe part is an exact replica of the old one from the original Gaia’s Vengeance bundle.

Gaia's Vengeance Axe

Yep, you heard it right. Riot Games is trying to sell us the same axe, just in a different bundle. And to top it off, they're boosting up the price! The new dual-wielding weapon will set you back 4350 VP, while the old axe was a "mere" 3550 VP.

Keep in mind that if you want to hop on VALORANT and use the first bundle instead, you will have access to the exact same axe by buying the previous bundle for a lower price.

We Just Want a Dagger

But wait, there's more! The gaming community had a simple solution in mind: just give us the dagger. Players unanimously agreed that a standalone knife would've been way better. No frills, no fuss, and no clutter on your screen.

The dagger's got that clean, sleek look that many players adore. It's the kind of melee weapon that doesn't make you feel like you're swinging around a mini lumberyard while trying to frag your enemies.

Dual-Wielding Woes

Let's talk about dual-wielding skins in VALORANT. Spoiler alert: They're not exactly crowd-pleasers. Only a handful of players actually use them, and the fact that Riot Games decided to slap the same old axe on the other hand doesn't help. One player summed it up perfectly:

"Why make a freaking dagger model and then copy-paste the 1.0 axe into the other hand for an animation rig that is definitely F-tier (dual-wield)?"

Will Riot Games Fix It?

Now, you might be wondering if Riot Games will do anything about this uproar. Well, don't hold your breath. Historically, they haven't been too keen on addressing skin bundle failures. So, it seems like we're stuck with this "double trouble" bundle, folks.

While making the small change that the community asked for would probably boost sales for the bundle, Riot seems happy enough as long as they’re raking in a couple of bucks with the current bundle.

But hey, on the bright side, you can save your hard-earned cash for something better. There are plenty of other skins in the VALORANT universe that won't make you feel like you've been bamboozled. So, keep fragging, keep gaming, and keep it real!
