League of Legends is Getting a Vampire Survivors Game Mode in 2024

League of Legends players have something exciting to look forward to as Riot Games gears up to introduce a new PvE and PVP mode inspired by Vampire Survivors. While the return of the 2v2v2v2 Arena is undoubtedly thrilling, the sneaky announcement of this PvE mode has sparked a lot of excitement among fans.

One intriguing aspect of Riot's plans, especially considering their highly anticipated League of Legends MMORPG, is the shift from PvP-focused gameplay to a PvE experience. It's a new idea that is sure to boost Riot’s player community, particularly considering it will integrate League of Legends, a game notorious for its intense PvP battles and colorful chat exchanges.

When will League of Legends Survivor mode release?

This summer, players will have the opportunity to dive deep into the PvE side of League of Legends with the introduction of this new game mode, inspired by Vampire Survivors and other Bullet Heaven titles. Below, you can see a preview of the game mode in development.

As the League of Legends MMORPG just got entirely reset, with the development team having to start rebuilding it from scratch, fans will have to be patient as the project is expected to remain in the dark for several years. For those who have invested countless hours into games like World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy 14, this news might come as a disappointment. However, there is a silver lining: Riot Games might not limit the PvE side of League of Legends to this summer’s game mode.

While it’s confirmed that Riot is introducing a new bullet heaven mode inspired by Vampire Survivors and a new version of the Arena as part of the MOBA's upcoming summer event, the celebration of League of Legends' 25th anniversary might lead to Riot announcing yet another new project to boost their repertoire. While details remain scarce, the prospect of this fresh gameplay experience is causing r/LeagueofLegends to stir.

The development team disclosed:

“We (Riot Games) are working on our first ever survivor bullet heaven PvP mode, (…) You’ll be able to fight against hordes of enemies by yourself or with friends.”

Whether you're seeking a challenge or simply looking to have a blast with friends, the aim is to create an experience that everyone can enjoy.

Compared to popular modes like Star Guardian and Odyssey, Cadmus described this upcoming mode as "markedly different," suggesting that players can anticipate something fresh and involving new mechanics.

As someone who didn't quite click with Soul Fighter and fondly remembers the Star Guardian event, I've been waiting for a new PVE event for years now. Taking into account the number of players Vampire Survivors still has, I’m pretty sure I’m not the only LoL player anxious to get their hands on this new game mode.
