League of Legends Season 14: Cinematic and Nemesis Quests

League of Legends Season 14 just started, and Riot Games has already bombarded us with new content, including a revamped Summoner’s Rift map, literally over 100 new and reworked items, skins, new jungle mobs, and three Baron Nashor variants!

LoL Season 14 Cinematic

To start off Season 14 with a bang, Riot released the Season Start Cinematic on Youtube, called “Still Here." After a lackluster attempt at hyping players for the start of Season 13, with a bland and empty cinematic that left the community wanting and disappointed, the expectations were higher than ever this year, and boy did Riot go through with their promise to boost the quality of their content for League of Legends Season 14.

The Season 14 Cinematic features Tryndamere facing off against Kindred in an epic showdown and getting rescued by Ashe in the last second. Meanwhile, Kayle and Morgana take on Aatrox in a battle in the sky, with Morgana saving the world in the last moment after leaving her sword and helmet behind to trap Aatrox using her dark magic and allowing Kayle to hit the last strike on the Darkin lord. The video also introduced Yasuo’s latest skin, Foreseen Yasuo.

Everything from the cinematography, the use of color, and even the incredible song Still Here by Forts, Tiffany Aris, and 2WEI is absolutely incredible! The debut of Season 14 blew away the League of Legends community, who praised Riot for their efforts in giving back to the player base.

Tryndamere has always been known for defying death, and this takes us to the feature Riot is bringing back in Season 14: the Nemesis Quests.

What are Nemesis Quests in League of Legends?

When specific champions face each other in League of Legends, they can trigger a quest based on their rivalry, and the one who completes his quest first will usually receive a boost of some sort. This advantage can come in terms of stats or even an extra level on a champion skill.

Kayle versus Aatrox

Let’s take a look at all the Nemesis Quests coming to League of Legends in Season 14.

Kha’Zix versus Rengar: The Hunt is On

After Rengar farms his five trophies and Kha’Zix evolves three abilities, they will be prompted to get a takedown on each other. If Rengar gets the takedown first, he’ll receive an extra trophy, and if Kha’Zix does, he’ll be able to evolve his fourth ability.

Renekton versus Nasus: Bad Blood

Once both champions reach level 11, they will have to take down their rival while using their ultimate. The winner will receive a boost to their ultimate, extending its duration and size, while the loser will experience the opposite effect.

Senna and Luchan versus Thresh: Sentinels of Light

Once Senna has 100 mists and Thresh collects 40 souls, they’ll need to get a kill or assist on each other. Senna’s victory will grant her extra ability power and armor, while Thresh’s will increase his AD, Attack Range, and Critical Strike chance.

Hwei versus Jhin: The Golden Ratio

Once both champions reach level 12, the first one to take down their rival using their ultimate will gain Magic Penetration or Lethality. 3.33% Mag-pen for Hwei or 4.444 Lethality for Jhin.

Shen and Zed: Battle of Spirit and Shadow

Once both ninjas are at level 11, Shen will have to get a takedown on Zed, and Zed will need to take down two enemies from the enemy team while Shen is nearby. Whoever gets their objective first wins, with Shen’s reward being a 30% increase to his Ki Barrier and Zed getting a 2% max health damage buff on Contempt for the Weak.

Jax versus Bel’Veth: Fishing in the Lavender Sea

This one’s easy; the first one to get Baron Nashor wins. Jax will get five stacks of Bel’Veth’s passive, increasing by 5 whenever he gets a takedown on her, and Bel’Veth will gain her true form when ulting a Void Coral dropped by Jax.

Aatrox versus Kayle and Morgana: Ending the World Ender

Once Kayle and Aatrox reach level 11, whoever gets two takedowns on the enemy will win. Kayle’s ultimate gets its cooldown reduced by 10 seconds while increasing the area of effect, and Morgana gets a 2.5-second cooldown reduction on her E. Aatrox receives a boost to his ultimate, which will now last 3 seconds longer.

Tryndamere versus Kindred: Death Defied

Once both champions reach level 11, they will need to get a takedown on each other within 15 seconds of the enemy having used their ultimate. If Kindred wins, she gets a bonus stack to her passive; if Trynda wins, his Mocking Shout will now last 1 second longer.

LoL Season 14 Tryndamere

Tryndamere is clearly the star of League of Legends Season 14, so it’s only fitting that he’s receiving the Victorious Skin this year. While the Nemesis quests are already live, you can expect the Victorious Tryndamere to reach live servers in February, once Season 13 rewards are handed out.

Stay tuned for more League of Legends Season 14 news!
