Here's Everything you Need to Know About League of Legends Season 14

Riot Games has announced all the changes coming to League of Legends in 2024 in their most recent Dev Blog. From new champions and updates to game modes and a focus on esports, here's a breakdown of what you can expect to see in League of Legends Season 14.

New Champions in LoL Season 14

Leading the charge of new champions boosting the League of Legends roster this year is Smolder, the fiery fledgling.

This adorable baby dragon is swooping into the botlane early in 2024.

Riot is aiming to release a more standard ADC, steering players away from overloaded champion kits and providing a more traditional experience with Smolder.

Adding to the lineup is a mid-range mage from the Freljord, an area inspired by Vikings and Scandinavia, marking the first appearance of a Vastaya from this region.

New ADC Smolder

Arcane has introduced us to the new addition for the 2024 Roster: Ambessa Medarda, the imposing and cold-blooded Noxian mother we all loved to fear. She promises to bring a new style of gameplay to the Rift that is both hard-hitting and agile.

Arcane Season 2

Netflix will debut Arcane Season 2 in November, featuring Warwick and Singed. Alongside the teaser trailer, Riot confirmed a few gameplay updates and skins tied directly to the series.

Arcane 2 will leave its mark with a complete update for an undisclosed character, mirroring their on-screen appearance. Speculation is running wild, with possibilities including Jinx, Vi, Caitlyn, Jayce, Heimerdinger, Victor, and Singed. Since Warwick was already reworked not long ago, people are expecting Victor or Singed to get the rework.

Speaking of reworks, Skarner's long-awaited complete overhaul update is almost done, and Shyvana is on the update list for 2025, promising a Udyr-style remake that preserves her unique playstyle.

Riot also confirmed visual updates for Lee Sin and a huge visual boost for Teemo later in 2024, and the yordle scout-captain might get a slight rework as well.

League of Legends Progression System

League's Mastery System is getting a makeover, allowing players to reach levels beyond seven with their champions. New badges up to level ten will offer more cosmetic rewards, with an infinite progression system being implemented, just like the one in Account Levels. Your pre-update champion investment will carry over, boosting your initial levels in the new era of champion mastery.

Taking on Cheaters with Riot Vanguard

Riot Vanguard, renowned for its success as an anti-cheat system in Valorant, is making its way to League. In response to a significant data breach in 2023, Riot is taking a stand against cheaters. Starting in 2024, Riot will focus on ensuring player privacy and fair play. Vanguard for League of Legends is set to arrive in late February.

Esports Evolution

Major changes are coming to the esports arena, with MSI gaining prominence. The LEC, LCS, LCK, and LPL will each secure three slots for Worlds, potentially increasing based on MSI outcomes. The tournament locations have been confirmed, with MSI taking place in Chengdu, China, and Worlds being hosted in Europe, specifically in Berlin, Paris, and London.

New Game Modes

League's latest game mode, Arena, will return with a few mechanic boosts, doubling the player count to sixteen for extra excitement. Additionally, a new, "relaxed", and unranked mode is in development, promising a different League experience for casual players.

Skins, Themes, and Legendary Updates

Rakan, Ezreal, Kindred, Evelyn, and Kayle will shine with new prestige skins. Lunar New Year introduces two themes, Lunar Scale and Primal Ambush, alongside the return of Porcelain, Fairy Court, Blood Moon, and Project. Older legendary skins will receive a free update, as well as a border to streamline them with modern legendaries, ensuring they stay as captivating as ever.

Heavenscale Ezreal Prestige Edition

League of Legends is stepping up in 2024 as Riot Games transforms the biggest MOBA in the world with tons of updates and additions. Riot has proven that they are a lot more focused on player feedback and that they want to deliver on their promises. Season 14 will be legendary!
