Rumours Claim Quad Mode Might Follow Solos in Apex Legends Season 21

Apex Legends players have long discussed the possibility of a Quads mode, but is it actually happening? The battle royale’s main mode is Trios, but many players have expressed a desire to jump into the Apex Games with teams of four. Let's explore the rumors and leaks surrounding the potential release of Quads in Apex Legends.

Leaks Claim Quads is Coming to Apex Legends

A few months ago, a prominent and trusted leaker claimed that Season 21 would introduce both Solo and Quad modes, boosting the player community’s hype over the new season. When Season 21 launched in May, it did indeed bring Solos, but Quads were nowhere to be seen. This has left the Apex Legends community wondering whether Quads are still a possibility.

Respawn Entertainment Addresses Quads

As of now, there has been no official confirmation from Respawn Entertainment regarding the introduction of Quads. However, this doesn’t entirely rule out the possibility. Developers insisted for a long time that Solos would never happen, citing concerns about the game's balance and the legends' intended functionality in a solo setting. This stance frustrated many competitive players who wanted to prove their worth without relying on a team.

To everyone's surprise, Respawn announced that Solos would be available as a game mode in Season 21, which brought some players back to the game. This unexpected release has given players hope that Quads could also make its way into Apex Legends eventually, despite the current lack of solid evidence.

Previously, Apex Legends developers were quite opposed to the idea of Quads. Design Director Jason McCord stated in 2021 that internal testing revealed Quads to be "untrackable and chaotic in a negative way." This led to the mode being shelved, at least temporarily.

However, just as with Solos, developer opinions can change, and it’s possible that they are working behind the scenes to make Quads viable by boosting several game features and tailoring them to the game mode. The community remains hopeful that Respawn will find a way to integrate Quads into the game without compromising its balance and playability.

Apex Legends Season 21

In Season 21, Solos replaced Duos for the first six weeks, featuring 50-player matches. Players could use ‘Battle Sense’ to detect nearby enemies within a 50-meter range, and weapons came pre-kitted with attachments. This mode was a huge change from the usual team-based gameplay and showed that Respawn is willing to experiment with different formats.

If Quads were to be introduced, it would likely require careful balancing and new mechanics to manage the increased chaos. It could also provide a fresh and exciting way to play Apex Legends, boosting engagement and attracting players who prefer larger teams. The addition of Quads could also offer new strategic possibilities and dynamics within the game.

The possibility of Quads coming to Apex Legends remains uncertain. While leaks and past developer comments suggest it has been considered, there is no concrete information confirming its arrival. However, the unexpected introduction of Solos in Season 21 has given players hope that Quads might not be entirely off the table.

Respawn will continue to adapt Apex Legends to their community, which eagerly awaits any news on this new mode. For now, players will have to keep an eye on updates and enjoy the diverse game modes currently available.
