Apex Legends is getting four new weapons in Season 20

Since its release, thousands of players have consistently dedicated their gaming time to the battle royale of Apex Legends. Whenever a new patch is announced, with new content boosting the Apex Games, rumors and leaks usually pave the way before the changes are even confirmed. Alongside nerfs and buffs, the most recent patch leaks reveal the discovery of four brand new weapons in the Apex Legends datamined files. As we look forward to Season 20, here's a glimpse into the four leaked weapons that will reshape the battlefield in 2024.

Fanatics - Dual-Energy Pistols

The pistol category in Apex Legends has been in dire need of diversity for a long time now, and the Fanatics might be the answer.

A set of dual-energy pistols, they bring a unique twist to the arsenal. Players can wield one in each hand, enabling simultaneous or sequential firing. What sets the Fanatics apart is their charging mechanism, which allows players to unleash a more powerful shot, akin to the Peacekeeper Shotgun. RossTheSquirrell, an Apex Legends content creator, has already leaked a sneak peek into what Season 20 might hold for these dual-wield wonders, and the Apex community’s excitement level is through the roof!

Scorpion Crossbow

The Scorpion Crossbow enters the scene, potentially changing the dynamics of mid-range battles. With the Bocek Bow possibly returning to ground loot, the Scorpion offers an automatic alternative to arrow-based weapons. Rumors suggest a select-fire mode, similar to the Bocek's shatter caps, allowing players to switch to a shotgun-like mode, firing multiple arrows at once. As Seasons 18 and 19 kept the Scorpion in the spotlight, its introduction in Season 20 could be the perfect boost to the weapon choices Apex Legends players have been asking for.

Maelstrom LMG

While early leaks hinted at the Maelstrom Light Machine Gun a long time ago, it’s still uncertain what Respawn intends to do with this LMG. Initially designed to use light ammo, a shift from the standard for LMGs, the Maelstrom promised to offer increased ammo capacity with each kill. However, as time passed, information about the Maelstrom grew scarce, suggesting it might have been abandoned. The Spitfire's transition from heavy to light ammo filled the gap, so the fact that this mysterious weapon is showing up again might mean we’re getting something completely unexpected.

Gemini Energy SMG

Adding to Apex Legends' array of energy weapons, the Gemini Energy SMG is leaving the Apex community in shock (pun intended).

Apex Legends Gemini LMG

While we already have the Volt energy SMG, the Gemini has a unique feature: Equipping this SMG in both weapon slots boosts the firing speed, swapping efficiency, and reloading speed. However, players are not sure about its viability compared to the Volt.

Balancing damage output and firing speed will be crucial to ensuring the Gemini finds its niche without overshadowing other existing weapons that already do what it does.

As the Apex Legends community waits for the release of Season 20, the possibility of these leaked weapons making their debut adds an extra layer of excitement to the Apex Games. Respawn Entertainment continues to keep players on their toes, introducing innovations and redefining the gameplay experience, and that’s why Apex Legends is still at the top of the charts. Stay tuned for more updates on Apex Legends and the upcoming Season 20!
