VALORANT: Sunset's best Support Agent has been revealed!

Welcome, Viper enthusiasts! If you're like me, you've probably been feeling the sting of Viper's numerous nerfs throughout her VALORANT journey. But here's the deal: despite all the setbacks, she's still got one heck of a utility kit, and when it comes to the latest map, Sunset, her support game is absolutely boosted.

So, let's dive into why Viper is the absolute best VALORANT support agent to have in your corner when you're navigating the Sunset battlefield. Trust me, you don't want to mess with her.

Sunset is a huge game-changer for Controllers

First things first, Sunset, introduced in VALORANT's Episode Seven, Act Two, has shaken up the map meta like a snow globe. It's a versatile playground, welcoming a wide array of agent compositions. But what's truly intriguing is that, unlike some of the previous maps, Sunset is tailor-made for controller agents. And guess what? Viper can shine as a solo controller on this map!

Now, I know the recent nerfs to her fuel generation bar might have you hesitant about going solo with Viper on any VALORANT map. Being the sole controller on your team does have its drawbacks and can limit her potential as a fragger, but here's the kicker: Viper is more than just a controller; she's a blend of controller and sentinel.

Viper’s kit shines on Sunset

Let's talk about her smokes. They're not quite the same as Omen's, Astra's, or Brimstone's. Her Toxic Screen may not be as flexible as Harbor's bending, rechargeable wall, but she excels in a critical area: shutting down or delaying enemy pushes to give your teammates ample time to arrive and wreak havoc.

Even though her controller capabilities may not be as consistent as some others, discounting Viper on Sunset would be a monumental mistake.

It might seem that the new map will always boost a single-controller meta where Astra and Omen are dominant, but failing to recognize Viper's "pseudo-sentinel" role would be a grave error. And I've got some pretty compelling reasons for that.

First off, when you're on the defense, Viper's wall and orb can blanket all those crucial chokepoints on the map. It's as simple as throwing up a wall from Mid Bomb Door to A Main and placing her Poison Cloud at B Main. Boom! You've just taken control of all the major chokepoints on the map.

Another nifty trick is to send that wall from the Mid Bomb Door to the tall radianite box near the site in front of A Link. This allows your team's sentinel to hold down the fort at A Elbow. Personally, I love playing B Site with these setups because they provide fantastic mid-support when needed.

Viper can also charge into the fray

Now, when it's your turn to attack, you can learn a couple of Poison Cloud lineups for Mid Top and A Link, toss up that wall at the standard chokepoints, and you're golden. And hey, why not sprinkle in some Snake Bite lineups for good measure?

With Viper's wall and orb setups, you can effectively block off every critical chokepoint on the map. She's an invaluable boost to your team composition when you're rocking Sunset in VALORANT. Sure, she might not fit the traditional "controller" mold, but as a support or anchor agent, she brings a slew of unbeatable benefits to your strategies.

Let's face it, no other controller can pull off what she does. She can be a game-changer even when flying solo as the controller, though you'll feel the limitations of her stationary Toxic Screen. Plus, her smokes recharge, unlike Brimstone's. And remember, pushing through her smokes puts enemies at a considerable disadvantage.

So, if you're finding it tough to secure rounds on defense and blaming Riot for supposedly creating a "bad" VALORANT map, it's high time you introduce Viper into the mix. She's the secret weapon you've been waiting for on Sunset. Don't underestimate the power of the snake.
