Valorant Episode 8: DEFIANCE Act 1 has Finally Started

Valorant Episode 8: Act 1 is revolutionizing Riot’s first-person shooter with the release of the first-ever new weapon, the Kuronami skinline, and new chapters in the story of the Valorant Protocol.

After Episode 7’s Kill Code flopped in terms of gameplay, with the Uprising event failing to meet the community’s expectations but surprising everyone with its exciting story, Riot Games decided to boost the game’s mechanics and features for Episode 8.

Valorant Episode 8 is bringing us a brand-new sniper rifle, the Outlaw. I love the Marshal, but I have to be honest, the Outlaw is hard to put down once you try it for the first time. While it’s not the heaviest sniper in the game, it’s still fast enough to allow you to quickly take out an enemy and relocate before even being spotted. It’s no wonder they showcased Omen using it in Valorant’s most recent cinematic.

Speaking of which, TAKE THE LEAD // Episode 8: Act 1 Kickoff Cinematic announced the debut of the new episode along with the new Outlaw Sniper in style. Riot created a storyline involving Cypher, Sova, and Omen working together for Viper, infiltrating a building, and confronting Omen’s past. As if the hype from the new weapon wasn’t enough, we got an even bigger adrenaline boost when Omen loaded up his Outlaw and took out everyone in the building, Matrix style!

Now, for those of you who aren’t big fans of Sniper Rifles, don’t worry; Riot’s newest skinline, the Kuronami, might have a Marshal skin, but it’s the Vandal and Sheriff skins you should be looking at. The water-themed weapon skins are all about that traditional Japanese flow, with ninja blades incorporated into the weapons’ bodies and even a dual-handed melee weapon, two kunais connected by chains. The new collection comes in four different color variations and includes an epic finisher animation too.

The new episode isn’t all about cosmetics and ranks. Riot is tweaking Deadlock and Killjoy to boost their presence in the game and updating some map features like door interactions with skills and player models and rotating door timers.

Icebox and Lotus are joining the map rotation, with Icebox getting changes to the B side, which was too chaotic, and Lotus getting its neutral spaces reworked, boosting the quality-of-life for defenders.

Riot Announces VCT Masters Madrid 2024

2024 Valorant Esports is starting off with a banger event, the VCT Masters in Madrid, which will feature two teams from the VCT Americas, VCT Pacific, VCT EMEA, and the most recent region to join the competition, VCT China. It’s the first time we’ve seen Chinese Valorant teams competing on a big international stage, representing their very own region, so we can expect everyone to go all out at the Madrid Arena, a huge circular stadium located in Avenida de Portugal, Madrid.
