Gambit Joins the Roster as a Strategist Gambit arrives as a Strategist hero built around kinetic energy, agile movement, and the iconic card tricks that define his combat style. He blends mobility and battlefield control in a way that will help teams push objectives faster and reinforce their presence in tight skirmishes.

His Chronovium-charged cards allow him to heal allies, clear negative effects, or pressure enemies with knockbacks and anti-heal. When fights escalate, he can charge his staff to close gaps, protect teammates, or take down scattered threats. His Ultimate launches kinetic aces that power up every nearby ally, giving them enhanced jumps and explosive damage. Squads looking to focus on teamwork will find Gambit’s kit incredibly reliable.

A New Times Square Map

Season 5 also introduces Times Square, a non-combat map designed purely for social interaction. It can host up to 100 players and encourages everyone to relax, dance, watch videos, read, or show off cosmetic items. After seeing how players gathered for casual moments in Doom Match Sanctum Sanctorum, the developers wanted a true hub for downtime.

This new space offers a refreshing shift in pace. Not every moment in Marvel Rivals has to focus on climbing rank or boosting performance. Sometimes you just want to hang out, enjoy player creativity, and celebrate progress with your friends.

Conquest Mode: Large-Scale Action with 36 Players

If you are looking to improve your competitive experience, the upcoming 18 vs 18 Conquest mode goes live on November 27. This new mode takes place on the Grand Garden map and features chaotic, large-scale battles that reward coordination and smart counterplay. With 36 players clashing at once, the mode challenges everyone to adapt and find new strategies.

Later in the season, Competitive mode receives a placement system, giving players a clearer path to improving their rank.

Season 5 also turns on cross-platform progression, which is a huge upgrade for anyone switching between devices. Marvel Rivals has confirmed continued development of its PvE mode introduced with Marvel Zombies. New PvE updates are planned for 2026, giving players more variety beyond the usual competitive grind.

University students can also take part in the ongoing costume trial program, which returns in Season 5 with ten new costumes and MVP options. Verifying a school email unlocks these perks, which is a nice freebie for players who enjoy cosmetics.
