Jimmy 'MrBeast' Donaldson, the YouTuber with the most subscribers in the world, wants to make his debut in League of Legends esports.

The content creator is planning on competing in the North American Challengers League (NACL).

We already knew Mr. Beast was looking for a spot in the League of Legends competitive scene but so far, nothing came of it. Now that the NACL is allowing private investors and content creators to gain access to the big stages, he might follow Disguised Toast and join the competition.

This move will surely boost both the content creator and the NACL's viewership and popularity by joining the communities following both the League of Legends competitive scene and the Mr. Beast Youtube channel.

Content Creator Mr Beast with dollar bills in his ears

MrBeast has "apparently expressed interest in joining the NACL," according to Sander Hove of The Game Haus, who has teamed up with Nick "LS" De Cesare to update us on news on the North American League of Legends scene.

Not only is popular League of Legends streamer Tyler 'Tyler1' Steinkamp considering joining the league, but so is Moist Esports, owned by Charles 'MoistCr1TiKaL' White Jr. and Ludwig 'Ludwig' Ahgren.

Despite being refused membership in the NACL, Tyler1 apparently still intends to enter the league with a team, as reported by Hove.

What is happening to the NACL?

The North American Championship League (NACL) is North America's secondary League of Legends league, below the LCS.

Seven of the ten LCS franchises withdrew from the NACL overnight when Riot allowed them to participate in the LCS without having an "academy" team. Since it's no longer mandatory to have a team where players can boost their skills, train and develop, most organizations have dropped the second team entirely.

For the Summer Split, Riot Games trimmed the North American Championship League (NACL) from 16 to 10 teams and invited Jeremy 'Disguised Toast' Wang's esports squad, DSG. With an 11-7 record and an average of 10,951 spectators per game, the squad is presently tied for second in the league, according to analytics firm Esports Charts.

Mr. Beast joining League of Legends

When asked earlier this year if MrBeast's joining the LCS would affect the league, a League of Legends veteran from North America, 100 Thieves star Yiliang 'Doublelift' Peng, claimed it would be "really good".

Many people considered Mr. Beast a serious contender once TSM made public their intention to sell their LCS slot. According to an article published in The New York Times on May 20th, however, TSM has limited their talks "to about a dozen entities, mostly in the media and traditional sports worlds."

If MrBeast and other major content providers move in to boost the North American Challengers League (NACL), League of Legends analyst Caedrel is confident that the LCS will lose ground to the NACL.

On stream, Caedrel stated:

"If Tyler1, MrBeast, and Moist all get in Challengers League, it’s going to be more popular than LCS."

As the LCS is hitting record lows in terms of viewers, we can only wonder if the NACL will take over as the biggest League of Legends competition in the NA region.
