League of Legends Patch 13.22: Heartsteel's Debut and Janna's Rework

League of Legends players are in for a treat as Riot Games unveils Patch 13.22, a patch that may not be the largest but is certainly packed with significant changes that will leave a lasting impression. Today, we'll explore the unexpected changes to classic champions, the game's mage auto-attack speed adjustments, and exciting roster to the champion skin catalogue.

Get ready to dive into the world of League of Legends and explore the impact of these updates on your gameplay.

LoL Patch 13.22 Highlights

Mage Auto Attack Speed Changes

The standout feature of Patch 13.22 is undoubtedly the mage auto-attack speed adjustments. Lead Game Designer 'Phreak' revealed the reasoning behind these changes, which stemmed from the observation that mage players were opting for attack speed boosting runes even when their champions had no direct attack speed synergy. Champions like Ahri and LeBlanc were among the culprits.

To address this issue and offer more flexibility to mage players, Riot Games decided to modify attack frames, missile speed, and attack speed for a range of mage champions. The list of affected champions includes Ahri, Anivia, Annie, Cassiopeia, Heimerdinger, Ivern, Karthus, LeBlanc, Lissandra, Neeko, Orianna, Rumble, Ryze, Singed, Syndra, Taliyah, Teemo, Twisted Fate, Veigar, Vel’Koz, Xerath, Zilean, and Zoe.

These changes promise to breathe new life into these champions and allow players to explore different rune options, opening up new strategies and gameplay possibilities.

Janna Rework

Janna, the enchanter support with one of the longest-duration shields in her class, is undergoing significant adjustments in Patch 13.22. Riot Games aims to shift Janna's focus away from being solely a protector and bring back her more aggressive and enjoyable playstyle reminiscent of 2017.

To achieve this, Janna's W cooldown and cost have been reduced. Her passive now provides on-hit damage, and the shield decay on her E has been removed. However, it's not all buffs; her Q cooldown, cost, and damage have all been nerfed. The self-haste boost from her passive is gone, and her E duration has been decreased. These changes aim to make her gameplay more dynamic, focusing on her Q and W abilities, while also reducing her protective capabilities.

League of Legends Heartsteel Skins

Alongside these gameplay changes, Patch 13.22 introduces a range of exciting skins that will allow players to give their favorite champions a fresh and stylish look. The Heartsteel skins are making their debut on the Rift, featuring HEARTSTEEL Kayn, HEARTSTEEL K’Sante, HEARTSTEEL Ezreal, HEARTSTEEL Sett, HEARTSTEEL Aphelios, and HEARTSTEEL Yone. The band's main producer, Yone, is also receiving a prestige skin with Prestige HEARTSTEEL Yone. Additionally, Mythic Chromas are returning with the release of Breakout True Damage Ekko.

The inclusion of these skins adds a touch of visual flair to the game, allowing players to showcase their style and personality while battling it out on the Rift.

League of Legends Patch 13.22 may not be the largest update in the game's history, but it packs a punch with its mage auto-attack speed changes, Janna adjustments, and a stylish collection of new skins. These changes not only boost the gameplay experience but also offer players a fresh perspective on their favorite champions. As you dive into ranked matches with this new patch, remember that balance is key, as Camille once wisely said. And, while you're at it, keep an eye on the Skin Sale to prevent a shopping spree that might bankrupt you.

Whether you're a seasoned pro or a newcomer to League of Legends, Patch 13.22 is sure to bring exciting new elements to the game, ensuring that it remains as thrilling and engaging as ever.
