Briar - the Feet Controversy

Briar's feet on her splash art have caused massive outrage amongst fans, as the community divides between jokes and disgust.

Briar, the next League of Legends champion who will boost the jungler and top lane rosters, had her splash art leaked.

The splash picture for League's next champion, Briar, got out before she came out. Fans of the game were quickly drawn to her feet, which caused an immense split in the community and led to a fake picture of her splash art with Briar wearing shoes going viral on Reddit.

Briar has been mentioned for a while before she came out with several leaks surrounding the new vampire, but her splash art has really done a lot more than splash, and it caused huge waves on social media.

Strange chains that resemble weapons are holding back Briar as she sits on what appears to be a Demacian fighter's body. The big structure attached to her neck and wrists is suspected to be a device that will either restrain or boost her powers, but the community isn't worried about that part. The focus is on Riot creating yet another 200-year-old child, which is considered to be ethically strange or wrong. Alas, as we can see from Briar's splash art, her young appearance most likely does not reflect her real age.

The all-out war about Briar's feet has generated an ocean of less than safe for work memes and even comments about Jax chasing after her, Annie, and Zoe. This caused a tweet to go around with an alternative splash art image hiding her feet. The edit shown here was effective enough to fool some people before it was found to be fake.

League of Legends players are calling Briar a Warwick remake due to her kit being very similar to his, with a couple of upgrades.

Even though Riot hasn't officially announced Briar yet, her skills have been leaked very recently. The League community is calling her a boosted version of Warwick, but they disagree on whether or not that's a good thing.

Briar is coming out soon, even though Naafiri was released only a couple of days ago. Her splash art got out before Riot wanted it to, and now her set of skills has also been leaked.

People are comparing Briar's skills to Warwick's. She seems to have traits like a drain tank or bruiser, as well as a bleed mechanic and a skill that allows her to track targets. While a lot of players are eager to try out the new champion, others are sad that she has a skill set that's so much like Warwick's.

Part of the community even said they would prefer if Riot reworked Warwick instead and created new mechanics for Briar.

Remember that these are just leaks about her skills, not official proof from Riot. This means that all of Briar's skill set could change, but we'll have confirmation soon, as Briar is set to release on PBE soon.

Briar doesn't have any natural health regeneration per second. Instead, she heals from a bleed she puts on enemies with her passive, which is applied every time she damages an enemy. She also has a jump that can stun enemies, a "Pillory" that can hold her down or let her go, and an ultimate that boosts her stats by making her enter an enraged state for a period of time.

Even though Warwick doesn't have two different stances, as Briar most likely will, her "blood frenzy" and a leap that stuns the first target hit are very reminiscent of Warwick's abilities.

Some people are excited to see how her kit works and play as the vampire, but others don't like that it seems to be better than Warwick's.

It's still too early to tell if her full kit will give us a different experience from WW's or not, but we honestly can't wait to find out!
