Map, Baron and Jungle Changes in League of Legends Season 2024

League of Legends is renowned for its intricate mechanics and strategic depth. 2023 was a great year for League and the development team is eager to boost the game’s features for Season 2024. Riot Games has announced an array of changes that will reshape the Summoner's Rift, redefine the dynamics of Drakes, and bring you new challenges from the Void with the introduction of Voidgrubs, Voidmites, and Void Camps. Today, we'll delve into the details of each change, ensuring you're well-prepared for the Void’s invasion of the Summoner Rift.

Map Changes for Season 2024

The Summoner's Rift is undergoing a substantial facelift, with significant changes in each lane that promise to redefine how players approach the game.

Top Lane

Mirrored terrain on both sides to provide a more balanced playing field.

Introduction of a new brush and small wall combination near the entrance of the river, influencing lane control and gank potential.

Jungle

Introduction of wide walls across both Dragon and Baron pits, impacting jungle dynamics and objective control.

Mid Lane

Slight repositioning of the river entrance brush to boost safety for less mobile champions, offering protection against potential ganks.

Bot Lane:

The blue tri-brush area in the botlane is getting mirrored onto the red side, promoting symmetry.

Increased overall symmetry on both sides to reduce side-related advantages.

Similar to the top lane, a new small brush and wall combination will be added to the river entrance, opening the door to an array of new and more creative ganks.

These map changes promise to not only influence laning strategies but also reshape the dynamics of objective control, flanking manoeuvres, and teleport plays during team fights.

Drake Rework: Infernal Cinders

Dragons have always been a focal point in League of Legends, and Season 2024 brings a significant rework, particularly focusing on the Infernal Dragon.

Infernal Dragon's New Mechanic:

Upon unlocking, the Infernal Dragon Rift spawns Infernal Cinders across the map.

Players collecting these Cinders gain adaptive stats and a burst of movement speed.

Half of the Cinders drop on champion death, collectible by allies.

Minor Changes to Other Rifts:

Ocean and Mountain Rifts experience minor adjustments with repositioned walls and brushes.

The Infernal Rift now takes center stage, offering offensive prowess and strategic opportunities for teams with superior map control and resources.

Baron Nashor and Rift Herald Evolution

Season Start 2024 will see the introduction of Voidgrubs, Voidmites, and Void Camps, as well as significant changes to Baron Nashor and Rift Herald.

LoL Season 2024 Baron Changes

Rift Herald Changes:

Rift Herald receives a new Voidgrub look.

Players can right-click on the summoned Rift Herald, gaining control over its movement.

Charging Rift Herald knocks up and damages enemy champions.

Increased damage to turrets when charged into one.

The controlling champion is knocked out upon the Rift Herald crashing into a turret.

Baron Nashor Changes:

Visual update for a refreshed appearance.

Three new forms: Territorial Baron, Hunting Baron, and All-Seeing Baron.

Each form introduces changes to the pit and unique abilities.

Hunting Baron unleashes lightning on nearby enemies.

Territorial Baron creates a wall and pulls champions closer.

All-Seeing Baron generates a void rift, dealing damage over time within tunnels.

Voidgrubs and Voidmites:

Voidgrubs replace the first Rift Herald in each game.

Six Voidgrubs can spawn, despawning after 14 minutes.

Slaying Voidgrubs grants the Hunger of the Void buff, offering bonus damage against structures.

Defeating five or more Voidgrubs summons Voidmites that aid in structure takedowns.

Season 2024 Voidborn Blue and Red

Void Camps:

After 20 minutes, Voidborn Sentinel and Voidborn Brambleback replace Blue Sentinel and Red Brambleback.

Voidborns are tougher to defeat, and the buffs are distributed across the entire team.

Voidborn Scuttler replaces Rift Scuttler at 20 minutes, revealing champions and wards upon defeat.

As the Void invades the Summoner’s Rift, Season 2024 is Riot’s love letter to the community, packed with changes that League of Legends players have asked for throughout the years.

Stay tuned for more news from the Void! We’ll keep an eye out for any new changes by Riot; after all, “change is good”!
