Apex Legends Welcome Missions - A Guide for New Players and Veterans
Whether you're a veteran or a rookie, the Apex Legends welcome challenges promise to boost your skills.
After Respawn Entertainment, the developer behind Apex Legends, introduced the Spellbound Collection Event, along with a system that allows players to organize private matches and tournaments, they also added a much-needed feature: Welcome Missions. While primarily designed to help new players learn how to play Apex, these missions offer a fantastic opportunity to boost your progress with some extra XP towards the ongoing battle pass and learn some new tricks along the way.
Currently, although there is a small tutorial, new Apex Legends players are left with little guidance. If you’re just starting, then this is your lucky day! This guide will assist you in the task of completing Apex's new Welcome Challenges efficiently. If you’re not starting out, even if you've been playing since day one or are just introducing a friend to Apex, these missions serve as a great way to sharpen your skills and get some rewards too! |
How can you access the Apex Legends Welcome Challenges?
Upon logging into Apex as usual, navigate to the lobby and select "Seasonal" from the tabs at the top. In the sub-menu that appears, choose "Challenges," and you'll find yourself in the challenge hub. Here, you can explore daily challenges, seasonal battle pass challenges, limited-time event challenges, and now, the Welcome Challenges.
Click on the "Welcome to Apex" button at the top of the vertical list of challenges to access the Welcome Challenge page. Here, you can track your progress on each of the challenges.
The Apex Legends Welcome Missions consist of 10 challenges, each aimed at teaching players various gameplay elements and introducing them to the Apex Games’ available tools and weapons. The challenges are as follows:
- Restore 200 Health: a fundamental yet essential challenge, reminding players to heal even minor health deficits at all times. Sometimes, surviving one more shot is the difference between victory and defeat.
- Slide three times: emphasizing the huge importance of movement in Apex, especially downhill sliding for quick repositioning or escaping enemies.
- Deal damage with ordinance: encouraging familiarity with Apex's throwables, such as frag grenades, arc stars, and thermite grenades.
- Swap your armor for a higher-tier EVO Shield: highlighting how boosting your defenses to stay alive longer can increase your chances of winning.
- Make it to the top five: A challenge that will depend on squad dynamics, encouraging teamwork for a higher chance of success.
- Break down three doors with a melee attack: demonstrating how you can both take down an opponent hiding close behind a shut door and storm a closed-down building.
- Use a Phoenix Kit: Showcasing the ultimate healing and shielding power of the ultra-rare Phoenix Kit.
- Take an item from a Care Package: Encouraging strategic awareness when approaching Care Packages and considering potential risks such as third-party assaults by other teams.
Reaping the Rewards
Completing Welcome Challenges grants players XP, contributing to both the battle pass and individual user levels. Those who conquer all 10 challenges receive the Apex 101 badge, a stylish addition to their characters' banners. While the XP boost is a decent reward for long-time players, the Apex 101 badge sweetens the deal. Apex's Welcome Challenges represent a step forward on your journey into the Apex Games, catering to both seasoned players and newcomers. While you practice and improve your skills, we’ll keep you updated with more Apex Legends news! |
