Apex legends landscape

Respawn just released Patch 2.34, which fixes but also causes bugs.

Good news everyone! There's a new Apex Legends update out today, October 2nd. You'll need to grab it before you can dive back into the game. The folks at Respawn Entertainment have released this update to fix some pesky bugs that have been hanging around since the Harbingers Collection event last month and boost the game’s performance on the PC and Nintendo Switch.

In case you missed it, the Harbingers event brought us a new limited-time mode, changes to the World's Edge map, and a bunch of cool event items and skins. But alongside all the fun stuff, some annoying bugs have been bugging players.

While no one has access to the entire patch information yet, the Apex Legends team has given us a heads-up on what they're working on. Here's what they're looking to fix:

Apex legends for Nintendo Switch
  • Nintendo Switch players: Some of you might have noticed blurry graphics after the 18.1.0 update.
  • Button troubles: Sometimes, the button prompts on the summary or death screen don't show up, but don't worry; the buttons still work.
  • Daily challenge rerolls: If you've been crashing your game while rerolling daily challenges.
  • The Rev shell event: The required damage was reduced to 500 from 1000, boosting the speed at which you can now complete the challenge.

Now, we don't know for sure if these issues are fixed in today's update, but Respawn promises to give us the full scoop in the official changelog soon. Keep an eye out for that, and we'll make sure to update this article when they spill the beans.

They're also looking into some other problems, but those are still in the "investigating" stage. These include:

    • Stuttering at high FPS: If you've noticed some hiccups while playing at 165+ frames per second, they're checking it out.
    • Legends spinning: Sometimes, legends do a little dance when they exit a Trident. They're trying to stop the spinning.
    • Game crashes: Some players have been dealing with crashes mentioning "FS_CheckAsyncRequest" when loading into a map. They're on the case.

Meanwhile, the new patch brought a new, annoying bug. Some players have mentioned that their game crashes when they try to take a peek at their lifetime player stats. It's a bit of a bummer, but don't worry; Respawn has boosted their effort and is putting in extra work to help fix the new issue.

Respawn has looked into the problem, and they've got some good news. First off, this issue isn't so bad that it's breaking the game; you can still play Apex Legends. The only thing they're suggesting is to hold off on checking out your stats pages because they're a bit wonky right now.

But here's the best part: Respawn has a quick fix! They've got some advice for those of you affected by this glitch, and they're working on getting things back to normal. So, hang tight; don't stress about your stats for now.

So, there you have it—the lowdown on the latest Apex Legends update. Grab it, get back in the game, and hopefully those annoying bugs will be a thing of the past soon. Stay tuned for more official patch notes, and happy gaming!
