Apex makes an unannounced change to a specific Legend and short fused fans explode!
The Apex Legends community has stumbled upon a surprise adjustment made by Respawn regarding one of the Legends, following the start of the Harbingers Collection Event.
While the most recent game update made a bang for the announced changes, which included at least a couple of nerfs to Legends such as Horizon and Revenant and some boosts to the floor loot and crafter tables, it appears that Respawn Entertainment quietly implemented a tweak that affects Fuse, our Explosives Expert. This specific change restricts Fuse's ability to zoom in when launching grenades and Knuckle Clusters, and somehow, this huge change didn't find its way into the official patch notes.
Fuse gets a secret nerf
Fuse, renowned for his prowess with explosives, joined the roster as the fresh addition for Season 8 of Apex Legends, offering an arsenal of abilities designed for those who crave chaos on the battlefield.
With his Motherlode, Knuckle Clusters, and Grenadier Passive, he could wield extra grenades and rain destruction from a distance while maintaining relative safety. However, players have now noticed a huge limitation when using Fuse's Tactical and grenades. According to a Reddit user going by the name ashowlyy, the Apex Legends community discovered an unannounced change to Fuse's abilities after the start of the Harbingers Collection Event. |
Here’s the deal: Fuse can no longer zoom in while gearing up to unleash grenades or Knuckle Clusters.
This revelation on the Apex Legends subreddit garnered significant attention, with some players confessing they were unaware of this zoom feature before the recent patch and others saying that it was a huge game changer and removing this boost takes away Fuse’s identity as THE explosive expert. Many devoted Fuse fans confirmed that this zoom option was indeed available prior to Respawn's inconspicuous nerf, sparking curiosity about the motives behind this change.
Although this adjustment might seem less important in comparison to the substantial nerfs aimed at Horizon and Revenant, it could still have an impact in certain game scenarios. One of Fuse's distinctive advantages in Apex Legends lies in his robotic arm, which enables him to launch grenades and Knuckle Clusters over great distances at high velocities. The removal of the zoom feature could introduce new challenges when targeting distant foes. It's worth noting that Fuse currently ranks among the top third of Legends in terms of pick rate in Season 18, meaning that this nerf might not go unnoticed by many players.
The Exclusive Razor's Edge
However, it's not all gloom for Fuse. Despite the undisclosed nerf, the patch notes did include a minor boost that reduced the deployment time for his Knuckle Cluster ability. Additionally, the Harbingers Collection Event paid tribute to Fuse by introducing his very own heirloom, known as Razor’s Edge.
This coveted melee cosmetic takes the form of an electric guitar, earning acclaim from fans as one of the game's standout designs.
Beyond the adjustments to Legends' balance, the event also introduced a new Apex Legends Limited-Time Mode called Living Shells Trios, along with a new grenade known as Rev Shells, potentially highlighting Fuse's utility due to his ability to stockpile more of this explosive item.
Only time will reveal whether players uncover other covert changes made by Respawn within the Harbingers Collection Event.
