The Mystbloom Skins are Giving Valorant Players a Wallhack
In VALORANT, an unintended consequence of the latest Mystbloom skin collection has been allowing players to gain an advantage by essentially wallhacking. While Riot Games intended to steer clear of the contentious pay-to-win model in every game, this exploit has led players to joke about how this skinline is the first pay-to-win content the Tencent-owned company has released, and until a fix is released, the Mystbloom skin line will unfairly boost your performance in VALORANT.
It seems like VALORANT players don't need to worry about Vanguard's latest update anymore; after all, you don't need cheats when you can buy a Mystbloom skin!

Several VALORANT clips shared on May 2nd show players replicating this exploit by spectating the Mystbloom Sheriff or Operator weapons and aligning them at a specific angle towards an enemy beyond a barrier. By doing this, players can see a vividly colored silhouette of the opponent through the wall. Valorant players are labeling the Mystbloom collection as pay-to-win after this revelation, contradicting Riot's assurances that skins would not boost players or give them any competitive advantages. Of course, this advantage is clearly not intentional, but still, Riot needs to put in a bit more effort. |

Even though it's difficult to replicate the bug in a competitive setting, it still gives players an unfair advantage, especially in situations where they can use the glitch to hit opponents through walls if they're near obstacles, giving them an unfair advantage in holding certain strategic positions like Lotus' A Tree. However, using the exploit in any Valorant match will risk getting your account flagged and reported, potentially leading to a penalty or even a permanent ban.
Preeti Khanolkar, VALORANT's lead producer for cosmetic content, has already addressed community concerns following the dissemination of a clip by popular streamer Average Jonas and acknowledged this issue.

It's anticipated that Riot will patch the bug to rectify the unintended advantage and maybe even roll back the RR earnings of any ranked matches where the exploit occurred. After the Switchback bundle caused a mixed reaction in the player community, Riot Games really wanted to outdo themselves and dedicate the next skinline to their players around the world. Riot Games set the Mystbloom skin line to satisfy players' requests for a pink-colored theme, and they excelled in the aesthetic department. |

Despite the controversy surrounding this exploit, the Mystbloom skin collection remains available in the VALORANT store, allowing players to acquire the bundle or continue using the skins they've already purchased. In hindsight, when it comes to the aesthetically pleasing silhouette produced by the Mystbloom skins, players on Reddit said that Riot could have repurposed the feature into a legitimate gameplay mechanic, perhaps offering a visual effect allowing players to view the collection's finisher silhouette through walls instead, without granting an unfair advantage to any player.
